Northeast Georgia Animal ShelterThe Northest Georgia Animal Shelter is an open admission, non-profit Shelter, supported financially by private donations and funds from eight city and county jurisdictions. We do not refuse any animals from Hart and Franklin Counties. We often take in sick and injured animals, feral cats, wild dogs, and viscious dogs. In these cases, it is our obligation to humanely end the suffering of these animals. We strive to get all of our animals adopted, and often work with rescue groups and other local shelters to achieve this. Our maximum capacity is 60 animals. Currently our adoption rate is 30% and we are working hard every day to increase it. Peaceful Paws Animal Rescue SanctuaryWe do have many large breed dogs in our Rescue - dogs that have been with us and are used to being in a fenced-in yard. Because of this fact we do require fenced in areas for the dogs that we adopt out. Our dogs are used to being able to run and play without fear of wandering into the road or into areas they shouldn't go.
