At L&FHRF, we strive to find nurturing homes for every horse, pony, mule or donkey that comes into contact with us. That is why we look to like-minded individuals for financial assistance to continue our rescue efforts and also rehabilitate healthy horses for a second chance at leading productive lives. It is only through private donations, foster care programs, community outreach and volunteered time that we are able to continue these goals.

The Lake Cumberland Animal Welfare League is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. The League was created in 2000 by a group of concerned caring citizens because of the growing stray animal problem and the appalling conditions at the local animal "shelter". Volunteers work together to foster, give medical care, and find permanent loving homes for stray, mistreated and unwanted animals. Our funds come from donation jars, yard sales, ink cartridge recycling, membership dues, and individual donations. All donations are tax deductible. The members meet on the 3rd Monday of every month in Russell Springs, Kentucky. Please call for directions to our meeting place if you'd like to join us. WE WELCOME INQUIRIES FROM BREED SPECIFIC RESCUES!
