We are a very small rescue operation, generally taking in only one or two cats at a time. We specialize in abused or abandoned purebreds who need intensive one-on-one nursing and psychological rehabilitation before being rehomed. Because our rescues have suffered horrible abuse, we are extremely particular about the homes they go to

Many of our Westies are from animal shelters that come in as strays or as dogs relinquished directly by former owners. Some of our dogs come from owners who can no longer care for the dog. Once the Westie is in our rescue, it is placed with a foster family who cares for the dog until it is adopted. The Westies are spayed or neutered, given all their shots, microchipped and examined by a veterinarian. The dog’s temperament is evaluated, as well as how it gets along with children and other pets.

Wisconsin Westie Rescue is an organization devoted to the rescue and placement of West Highland White Terriers or Westies. This way, the dog can be placed with a family that is well suited for it. Our strict adoption procedures and home checks assure that the dog will be placed in a good home.

Adopt-A-Pet was founded in 1984 and is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes for animals who need them. Adopt-A-Pet is different from most shelters and rescue organizations in that any animal who comes through our doors will not be in danger of being euthanized. Many animals have problems that are solved if given the right treatment and training, these dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted
