Animal Pals is a non-profit and qualified 501(c)3 charitable organization who primarily rescue cats and kittens. We do occasionally get in a puppy or dog. We are just a small, home based group of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and our pets are fostered in people's homes. Our goal is to provide care for cats and kittens in need while evaluating their behavior and personality so we can find the best possible home for the animal.

The House Rabbit Society is an all-volunteer, national non-profit organization that rescues rabbits and educates the public on rabbit care. Utilizing foster homes as rescue "shelters," volunteers provide appropriate care and socialization opportunities to rabbits so that they may be adopted into loving, permanent, indoor homes. Our educators assist the public, humane societies, and local shelters through publications on rabbit care, phone and e-mail consultations, and classes upon request. We do not euthanize an animal unless they are suffering from an incurable disease or wound.

Pet's Second Chance is a registered 501 c3 non-profit organization located in St. Louis, Missouri. Our dedication is to the many Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis or Corgi mixes who have been abandoned by their owners due to divorce, moving, birth of children, and the many other reasons that families may no longer be able to keep their Corgi. We will accept all Corgis regardless of age or physical condition. Many of our Corgis do come from shelters.

Paws and Claws Humane Society of Chesterfield County is a completely volunteer organization. We work to assist the Animal Control Officer in improving conditions and situations for the animals under his control. We work out of the county animal shelter on the weekends to adopt out, administer preventative disease shots, and provide assistance and care to the animals. Join us! You can help in more ways than you think. This county shelter is a HIGH KILL SHELTER due to the shear amount of animals that come to this facility DUE TO NEGLECT, ABUSE and UNCONTROLLED BREEDING. We will work with any and all rescue groups available to us.

West Deer Dog Shelter is unique in many aspects. It is the only shelter in the area that is operated by a township. The shelter is located in western Pennsylvania approx. 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. We rescue stray and lost dogs from West Deer Township. The township has its own dog law officer who is in charge of the shelter and volunteers.

CCK9s has been rescuing homeless pets since 1983, I started out finding kittens new homes when I was still living at home with my parents. It's a one woman opperation here I started rescuing dogs in the early 1990's. In 1998 I had a rescue hit closer to home than anyone would have expected. Toby was one of my Basenji's that was sold to a pet home; only to find out that the new owner's burned him with cigarettes. I rescued and rehabilitated him, and he is the reason I still do rescue today.

After many years of dedicating my time, life, money and heart to the cause of animal welfare and rescue, I've made a decision to stop. Soon, my family and I will be relocating to the Western part of the country and I will no longer be involved with animal rescue in any capacity. If you have ever adopted a dog from us, please know that the adoption agreement is binding for the life of the dog. This means that if you can no longer keep the dog - he or she must be returned to us. We will still honor this agreement, and expect you to do the same. However, this does not mean you are responsible to get the dog to us out West. We can still have a local rescue volunteer pick up the dog in Maryland.
In the meantime, our dogs are still looking for great homes. Because of my decision to stop doing rescue, our dogs need to be placed quickly into screened, loving, permanent homes. So if you are ready for a new family member, please contact us.
