We are a group of small animal lovers trying to make a difference in the lives of unwanted animals. Our goal is to help as many of the homeless and in particular, the dogs once used in puppymills for breeding

We operate a small shelter in Butler and another in Kinnelon. We pride ourselves on the personal care we give each animal. All cats have their rabies shots, distemper shot and are tested for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline aids (FIV). Dogs have their rabies shots, distemper shots and are heartworm tested. All animals over 6 months old are spayed or neutered.

Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary strives to create a safe haven for parrots and exotic birds that come from unwanted, abused, neglected, and abandoned situations. We strive to secure quality homes by promoting responsible pet ownership through education and on-going home monitoring.
We accept and rescue surrendered, abandoned, neglected, abused parrots and other exotic birds for health care, behavioral therapy, and placement in new adoptive homes.
We are a non-profit organization. We don't breed or sell parrots. There is an adoption fee that is used to save the lives of other parrots in need. We do NOT adopt parrots/birds to breeders or research organizations. We are here for the sole purpose of saving the lives of parrots & exotic birds.

We are a nonprofit rescue affiliated with Alaskan Malamute Assistance League who is our national parent rescue. The dogs you see here have come from owners who can no longer provide for them for one reason or another; from local shelters; or from law enforcement agencies who have removed them from abusive situations. We support these dogs strictly from donations or our personal funds. All work is done by wonderful volunteers who do not get paid for their services. We have NO paid employees. ALL funds that come in to us by donation go toward food, shelter, vet costs, and if we can squeeze any extra -- toys and treats.

A Helping Paw is a no-kill, volunteer run organization dedicated to increasing the human/animal bond and decreasing the deaths of innocent homeless animals. According to the HSUS over 70% of cats & kittens in shelters are destroyed and 60% of dogs. A Helping Paw is a NO-KILL organization. Though we are unable to take in EVERY pet due to space and lack of funding, EVERY pet we take in gets a second chance at life. Our efforts directly benefit kill organizations by lessening the amount of animals at these facilities.
