The Arnell Memorial Humane Society was founded in January 1995 by concerned citizens and animal lovers. AMHS was named in honor of Roy Arnell, a local neighbor and farmer, whose generosity enabled AMHS to build an animal shelter in Amery, Wisconsin.
AMHS is primarily funded through donation, fundraising activities and animal adoptions. Partial funding is provided by Polk County dog license fees. AHMS is dedicated to the protection of animals by providing information, education and shelter; encouraging adoptions; promoting responsible pet guardianship, and expanding the human/animal bond.
