Waccamaw Animal Rescue MissionWaccamaw Animal Rescue Mission (WARM) is a registered 501 (c)(3) SC charity whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate wild, farm and domestic animals. WARM is a No-Kill refuge located in Conway and home to over 200+ animals at any given time. The organization provides valuable service to the community through animal rescue, education and adoption of its rescued animals into permanent, loving homes. Since 1994 our ongoing goals have consisted of the following: -- To provide facilities for the rehabilitation of wildlife & domestic animals. -- Educate adults & children in the importance of preservation of land & animals. -- To operate as a self sufficient facility with a caring staff. -- To advocate spaying & neutering. -- Locate loving homes for domestic animals. WARM is committed to returning wild animals to suitable habitats and domestic animals to new homes following rehabilitation. For those animals that release or adoption proves impossible, our Conway refuge becomes a permanent home. WARM is organized by a board of directors and volunteers who donate their time toward helping the organization and the limited staff members. Julie Finlayson, the founder and executive director is a well known local naturalist with over 35 years experience in wildlife rehabilitation. Her education includes certificate in wildlife rehabilitation, Master in Science & Education, and a degree in Biology. Noah ProgramThe Noah Program is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that began at Ark Animal Hospital in 1994. Our mission is to provide medical care and treatment to critically injured stray animals and wildlife of our area. Once treated, domestic animals are then put up for adoption and wildlife are released back into the wild. Some of our domestic animals need special homes because they may not have a leg or eye, need daily medications, have a limp, a skin condition or have chronically treated problems. They need exceptional care and love. Their ages range from newborn on up to adult. If you or a friend would be interested in adopting one of these special pets, please contact Ark Animal Hospital at 843-238-1414. An adoption form will be completed before taking ownership. Adopted pets are spayed or neutered before placing if they are old enough. If not then, it will be done at a discounted rate. All cats are tested for leukemia and feline aids and the dogs are tested for heartworms. They are also up to date on vaccines and started on heartworm prevention. There is an ADOPTION DONATION, which helps the NOAH PROGRAM. Mommy Cat Pet RescueUnfortunately, pregnant and Mother cats are abandoned on streets and at shelters every day. Compounding a Mother cat’s own fear and confusion at losing her home and entering a strange and scary place is her fear for her children. That’s where MommyCat comes in. We rescue pregnant and Mother cats with kittens from shelters, their health is checked by one of our network veterinarians, we bring them into a warm and safe environment, we love them, feed them premium kitten food, and then when the babies are nine weeks old we put them all into adoption.
