The House Rabbit Society is an all-volunteer, national non-profit organization that rescues rabbits and educates the public on rabbit care. Utilizing foster homes as rescue "shelters," volunteers provide appropriate care and socialization opportunities to rabbits so that they may be adopted into loving, permanent, indoor homes. Our educators assist the public, humane societies, and local shelters through publications on rabbit care, phone and e-mail consultations, and classes upon request. We do not euthanize an animal unless they are suffering from an incurable disease or wound.

MOE-JOEs Family Friends Rescue Inc.
Mo-Joe’s Family Friends was founded in 2005 by Melissa Benfield, who witnessed countless bully breed dogs being over looked in shelters because of their breed type, while their great personalities were ignored. We are a no kill, non profit organization operated solely by donations and the help of volunteers. We are a bully breed rescue, which includes American Pit BullTerrier, Bull Terrier, English Bull Dog, and the French Bull Dog, but even though the bully breeds are our focus we always rescue the animals who have no chance at life, including other breeds of dogs, cats, ferrets, turtles, and well you name it and most likely we have rescued one. All of our animals are in foster homes, where they are kid, cat and dog tested to insure their future homes are a forever home. All of our rescues were saved from certain death from local high kill shelters. Our animals have over come being homeless, emaciated, covered in mange, broken bones, abused, tied to trees and even some have survived parvo. They are up to date on all shots, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and healthy at the time of adoption.

Unfortunately, pregnant and Mother cats are abandoned on streets and at shelters every day. Compounding a Mother cat’s own fear and confusion at losing her home and entering a strange and scary place is her fear for her children.
That’s where MommyCat comes in. We rescue pregnant and Mother cats with kittens from shelters, their health is checked by one of our network veterinarians, we bring them into a warm and safe environment, we love them, feed them premium kitten food, and then when the babies are nine weeks old we put them all into adoption. They are all spayed and neutered, in order to stop the cycle of unwanted cats, and they are all injected with a pet retrieval microchip to insure they will never be homeless again.

The Animal Center of Moore County is a government facility that works in conjunction with Animal Control. Our shelter is responsible for the welfare of many animals and to make sure that the citizens and animals of Moore County live in harmony. Although not a non-kill shelter at this time, the priority of the Center is to achieve a non-kill status. Our mission is also to place animals in their forever homes while educating the public about spaying and neutering, while at the same time bringing the community together. Help us in our fight against overpopulation. Our mission statement: TLC: Take me, love me, care for me and make Adoption your Only Option.
