We've been around officially for two years. We have a shelter in Saginaw County but our office is at the Flint address. We are primarily a dog rescue although we've placed birds and rabbits once or twice. We are an all-breed rescue. We specialize in big, black dogs, and mixed breeds because they are the last to get adopted but we love them all. We are presently self-funded so we could use any help we can get, especially need volunteers. We are a non-profit rescue and have begun the process for getting out 501c3 non-profit license.

We are pleased and excited to announce that we have obtained our 501 3(C) non-profit status. Our special focus will be to help provide pet placement services to local senior citizens to ensure their pets find loving homes if placement is required, or to provide temporary, discounted boarding services. The majority of pets in rescue are fostered in our homes and there are three of us. Cindy and Sue primarily do the cat/kitten part in their homes and Carol, with the help of her husband, Bruce, the dog/puppy part, though we have been known to do both, and last, Corin who does the other, which usually includes hamsters, ferrets, quinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, chinchillas etc

The Klamath Humane Society is the local animal shelter for Klamath County, Oregon. We have been serving the needs of our communities’ stray and unwanted pets since 1969. We are a group of individuals committed to providing humane treatment for all animals. We are NOT a government agency. We are a nonprofit organization so 100% of all donations are kept and used in our local community. In 2002 we took in 3,451 cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters, birds, chickens, goats, horses, llamas, and potbellied pigs. We also care for a variety of other large animals that have been neglected and abused.

Walworth County Humane Society was accepted by the state of Wisconsin as a non-profit, tax exempt organization in November of 1978. In 1985 the name was changed to Lakeland Animal Welfare Society (LAWS).
Lakeland Animal Shelter is owned and operated by Lakeland Animal Welfare Society. It is centrally located three miles south of Elkhorn, WI. on highway 67, and it is the only animal shelter in Walworth County. Its doors are open to the public six days a week except on legal holidays. The shelter is staffed by dedicated and trained employees. Volunteers also play a crucial role in meeting many of the shelter's special care needs.
A board of directors, elected by LAWS members, establishes the policies of the Society and the operation guidelines for Lakeland Animal Shelter.
At LAWS it is our goal to prevent cruel treatment to animals. We feel it is our job to educate the public on the needs of pets, to help enforce laws pertaining to animal welfare and to humanely end the suffering of any animal for which a proper home cannot be found.

Lakewood is the first city/suburb west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie.
We are the only community northwest of Cleveland in our county who shelter our strays and try to find adoptable homes for them. All animals in the shelter come in off the streets of Lakewood, are abandoned, or taken in due to neglect.
CCLAS is the support group for the shelter. We were founded over 20 years ago because Lakewood had no shelter - now we help fund the spay/neuter programs, supply volunteers to help the shelter wardens, supply foster homes as needed, and educate the public. Of course, we do fundraising!

The Larimer Humane Society is an open-door shelter. Unlike no-kill facilities, we offer care to every animal in need. In order to be a no-kill shelter we would have to limit the number and types of animals we accept. We don’t turn any animal away and last year, the Humane Society sheltered over 9000 domestic animals and over 2500 wild animals, and the Animal Protection and Control Department answered over 20,000 calls. In 2004 the Larimer Humane Society adopted over 3,000 into loving new homes.
