common sense for animals

Our goal is to bring together people who share a certain common sense or fundamental principles regarding our heritage, and freedom of choice regarding food producing animals, companion pets, wildlife, research animals and the environment. We are not animal rightists. Instead Common Sense for Animals is committed to the entitlement of all animals to respect and dignity throughout their entire lives. We work to improve every area of human/animal relationships through education and community service.

Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc ( CARA )

CARA is a non profit "no-kill" animal rescue group located in Jackson, MS that provides food, shelter and care for hundreds of abused, unwanted, and stray animals. CARA is operated mainly by volunteers and a few part-time employees. The expenses for our programs and services are supported by private donations from individuals, businesses, and fund raising events throughout the year. We receive no funds from the city, county, state or federal government. The primary goal of CARA is the placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes; thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people. Our services are designed to promote responsible pet ownership. By education, communities can learn the benefits of proper care & treatment of all pets and why spay/neuter is important.

Concord-Merrimack County SPCA

The Concord-Merrimack County SPCA is a special admission shelter and we accept animals from throughout Merrimack County. Our name reflects our geographic service area, not a governmental body. We are a nonprofit agency dependent on private donations and are not supported by tax dollars. As a "special admission" shelter we accept all animals in need, but we do utilize an appointment policy to ensure there is space for all incoming animals. Thanks to a dedicated and caring staff and volunteers, and the monetary contributions of so many compassionate individuals and businesses in our community, we offer our animals the best of care as they await their new forever home.
