Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc ( CARA )CARA is a non profit "no-kill" animal rescue group located in Jackson, MS that provides food, shelter and care for hundreds of abused, unwanted, and stray animals. CARA is operated mainly by volunteers and a few part-time employees. The expenses for our programs and services are supported by private donations from individuals, businesses, and fund raising events throughout the year. We receive no funds from the city, county, state or federal government. The primary goal of CARA is the placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes; thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people. Pine Belt Animal Rescue Adoption CenterPine B.A.R.C. is a no-kill adoption center located on an 80 acre farm in Lamar County, Mississippi. We currently house more then 80 dogs in large fenced in areas. We depend on foster homes to house the cats and kittens.In addition to dogs and cats we are also set up to house hamsters and other pet rodents, rabbits and other small furry animals like ferrets, snakes and other reptiles and pet fish. We feel that preventing the births of the animals before they occur is the solution to the problem of overpopulation and strays.134 B.
