We are a private, not-for-profit animal rescue and placement organization. Our main focus is re-homing chinchillas, guinea pigs, and rabbits. We will also help rescue and place dogs, cats, and other furry critters as our resources allow. In addition to rescue and re-homing, we offer community outreach programs for youth groups, schools, etc. We can tailor any presentation to the students' age and size of the group. Public education regarding the need to spay and neuter pets and the humane treatment of animals is one of our top priorities.

Twisted Oaks Animal Rescue, the Exotic Division of the Animal Protection Coalition, is a 501(c)3 not for profit Organization. It is our mission to provide a temporary rest stop for unwanted, abused or neglected animals. Although we try to never turn away an animal in need, our main areas of focus are Guinea Pigs, goats, pigs, llamas, horses, sheep and fowl. We are a private home in Southwestern Michigan, and we provide our own time and resources for shelter, quality food, training and rehabilitation to care for animals in need of a safe haven. We operate soley on donations, and any funds received go towards food, medical needs, bedding, and anything else involved in animal care.
Our goal is to end the cycle of abuse and neglect which is all to often found with "livestock". We strive to find PERMANENT placement where these animals will be treated like members of the family, are loved & nurtured for the duration of their lives. If you have room in your heart and your home, please consider adopting or sponsoring an animal who needs a "second chance".

The SPCA is located in Muskegon County. The shelter regularly houses 100+ adult cats and kittens that are available for adoption. Donations, both monetary and supplies are tax deductible as allowed by law and are always appreciated.
We are a TAOS (The Association of Sanctuaries) accredited sanctuary and provides a permanent home to both native and exotic wild animals that have been abused, neglected, or orphaned and cannot be returned to the wild. The shelter currently is home to numerous wolf dogs, goats, horses, kinkajous, prairie dogs, African servals, chaussie cats, coatimundis, black bears, a miniature donkey, steer, and a sugar glider. The wolf dogs are permanent residents at the sanctuary. They came to the sanctuary for many reasons and from many states including California, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. We do not breed our animals.
