The mission of the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society is to further the interests and improve the lives of dogs and cats by educating and influencing public opinion in respect to the care, treatment and welfare of animals; to provide shelter, food and medical care for those dogs and cats surrendered to us for adoption and to find appropriate homes for them; to offer informational programs in the community's elementary schools; to operate a low cost spay and neuter clinic offered to the public; and to take an active part in the enforcement of those laws of the State of California enacted for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

The Sauk County Humane Society is a small rural Shelter that yearly:
a) provides shelter to over 1500 abandoned and stray animals;
b) offers education on safety around pets and responsible pet ownership to almost 2000 local school children;
c) provides animal control and bite quarantine services (over 600 calls a year) for much of our county;
d) provides adoptable animals (over 1000) to the public; and
e) seeks to increase public awareness regarding responsible pet ownership and issues related to humane education.

S.O.S. was begun in 1998 to help reduce the number of stray animals through non-lethal means (TNR and Spay/Neuter Programs).We also ask the public to help minimize overpopulation by spaying and neutering their own pets.We are organized members and volunteers and do not have a shelter. All of our animals are fostered by members or volunteers in their homes.

The Save Our Strays (SOS) organization is a small, all volunteer, no-budget group of individuals supporting the County Animal Shelter in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We take photos of shelter animals (cats, dogs, small mammals and reptiles) and post them on Petfinder. We also help with projects to improve the shelter. We are a small group determined to make a big difference!

The Schertz Humane Society is a non-profit corporation dedicated to rescue and improving the lives of companion animals in Schertz, and other areas in Texas.
