The House Rabbit Society is a national, non-profit, all volunteer rabbit rescue and education group. Our mission has two parts: Through our fostering program, volunteers rescue abandoned rabbits and find permanent adoptive homes for them; through education, we seek to reduce the number of unwanted rabbits -- and to improve bunnies' lives -- by helping people better understand these often misunderstood companion animals. Check out our national website at www.rabbit.org.

Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) is an all-volunteer non-profit humane society devoted to the prevention of animal suffering. CAAWS has been serving the people and animals of Baton Rouge since 1979 by placing cats and dogs in loving homes and educating the public about responsible pet ownership.
CAAWS is not a shelter, but an adoption agency, which places animals in foster homes until they are adopted. In this way we try to prepare the animals for the experience of living in a home environment. We are a no-kill humane society.
We also provide a service to the public by allowing people with unwanted animals to put their pets up for adoption at our facility. Potential adopters of both foster and public animals are thoroughly screened and interviewed before being allowed to adopt.

CAHS was founded in 1883 by two school teachers and several prominent community leaders dedicated to protecting animals, preventing cruelties and bringing empathy to society through teaching and advocating kindness for all. Their vision became the driving focus of what would become a reforming force in central Ohio. Our mission today remains the same; we envision a world where animals are respected and valued, and where the human-animal bond is strong.

Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) is the only animal care organization in New York City that never turns away animals.
Since 1995 the AC&C has been the organization responsible for New York City's municipal shelter system, rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City. AC&C facilities operate in all five boroughs, and we maintain 15 vans to pick up lost and abandoned animals throughout the city. In 2003, over 50,000 animals passed through the doors of AC&C facilities.
