Help Save A Horse Rescue

My name is Carri-Anne Powell. I started working with horses at age 9. I got into rescue when I visited the SPCA in Miami Florida and spoke with Laurie. She helped me adopt my first rescue horse. That got me hooked on saving more of our hooved friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I moved to Trenton in 1997, I had a dream to build a nice barn and take in unwanted and neglected horses. It was a hard struggle. I have started to build my barns, of which one 7 stall barns is complete with automatic waterers. I have plans to build another 7 stall barn and 5 large paddocks. Since I do not have any volunteers, it is a lot of work for my family. Currently I take care of 16 horses. Of those, 7 of them are personal horses and the rest are rescues. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I take care of these horses by feeding them twice daily. with help from my children. Withouth their help, I would not be able to keep going. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I run this rescue as ME, Carri-Anne Powell & Family DBA Help Save a Horse Rescue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you live in Gainesville and surrounding areas and would like to volunteer to help with these rescues, please don't hesitate in giving me a call. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need help with fencing, brushing, cleaning stalls and excercising.

New Hope Sanctuary for the Animals

New Hope Sanctuary for the Animals is a rescue, haven, and adoption organization for abused, tortured, and abandoned innocent animals and pets. We are based on the Christian principles that God intended humans to follow as guardians of His creation. We are a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care of stray and abandoned cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, litters, and farm animals (chickens, pigs, etc.). We encourage people to adopt and provide kind and loving care for a cat, dog, kitten, puppy, or litter, as well as to promote humane population control through spaying and neutering. We are involved in direct action in rescuing and placing animals within a network of animal groups across the nation, and in increasing public awareness and education about the abuse, torture, factory farming, slaughtering, butchering and the murder of innocents, and the need to spay and neuter. Through the media, special events, and publications we promote anticruelty, love, compassion, mercy, respect, and kindness towards all animals, animal theology, and compassionate alternatives to animal products.

Oasis Ranch

At the Oasis Ranch it is our goal to operate a non-kill sanctuary for the care, treatment and maintenance of neglected, abused, injured, sick, afflicted and disabled animals, particularily horses and cats. PLEASE NOTE - Unfortunately we are not equipped to handle dogs and cannot assist in the rescue or fostering of dogs of any size. We will rehabilitate and place for adoption those animals that have re-established trust in being handled by people through the loving, nurturing and caring atmosphere at the ranch. For those cats and horses that cannot be rehabilitated, the Oasis ranch will provide a safe and comfortable haven with care given to those animals for the remainder of their natural lives. We place great emphasis, as part of our mission, on educating the public about the importance of the humane treatment of animals through the production and distribution of materials through various media in order to communicate and create public awareness

Abandoned Pet Rescue

bandoned Pet Rescue (APR) founded in 1996, is a 501 ( c ) (3) IRS tax-exempt, qualified charitable organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected pets, rehabilitates them and finds them new homes. APR is one of the largest no kill animal shelters in South Florida, where volunteers perform the duties of running the shelter operations on a day to day basis. APR is devoted to the welfare of all animals. Most of the over 500 animals are Cats, Dogs, Bunnies, Birds, Parrots, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Mice, Rats, Iguanas, and other animals in need of help. While pet over population is declining throughout the country, the number of animals brought to South Florida shelters is increasing. APR's primary goal is to assemble a no-kill community. This is quite a daunting task, nonetheless, APR is making a valuable contribution to the animal community and will continue to do so as long as support is provided from generous donors.
