Fur Ever Sanctuary, Inc.We are a Non-Profit 501-C3 organization.Dedicated to giving animals that would other wise be euthanized a for ever home. We do not accept "adoptable" animals, these need to be in a regular shelter, so as to find there own home and family's. Some of our animals are dying, have diseases, medical problems that require daily medicine and care,handicapped, old and feeble or with behavior problems that make them undesirable as pets. We are all volunteers, no one is paid. All the donations go directly for the care and comfort of the animals. Pioneer Humane SocietyIt all started because of an injured mule which could not 'legally' be destroyed because it was unclaimed by the owner. Seven concerned West End residents joined together to care for the mule, as it seems that no one else cared. Thus, was started the Umatilla County Humane Society. Its organization and non-profit status were supervised by Gene Burgess, then Executive Secretary of the Oregon Humane Society in Portland. Incorporation papers were issued, and the organization registered as a federal and state 501(c)(3) humane non-profit corporation in 1975. Over the years, through different administrations and several name changes including Stokes Landing Humane Society and, most recently, Pioneer Humane Society, the organization has never waivered from its main goal to prevent cruelty to animals. Southern Breezethe owner of the farm, started this facility after a numerous amount of livestock, horses and smaller farm animals were found to be homeless. This includes horses, goats, geese, chickens, and other animals. Kelly Allen is the manager of the Elmore SPCA in Peru, and she is also the Cruelty investigator for the northern New York area. Some of the animals at our facility have been seized under the cruelty laws of New York State. We also have handicapped and disabled animals that are up for adoption depending on the special needs.
