bandoned Pet Rescue (APR) founded in 1996, is a 501 ( c ) (3) IRS tax-exempt, qualified charitable organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected pets, rehabilitates them and finds them new homes. APR is one of the largest no kill animal shelters in South Florida, where volunteers perform the duties of running the shelter operations on a day to day basis. APR is devoted to the welfare of all animals. Most of the over 500 animals are Cats, Dogs, Bunnies, Birds, Parrots, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Mice, Rats, Iguanas, and other animals in need of help. While pet over population is declining throughout the country, the number of animals brought to South Florida shelters is increasing. APR's primary goal is to assemble a no-kill community. This is quite a daunting task, nonetheless, APR is making a valuable contribution to the animal community and will continue to do so as long as support is provided from generous donors.

Animal Care and Control is part of Palm Beach County Government. Our shelter was started in 1969. We are located at 7100 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, Florida (five miles west of I-95).
In 1974, the shelter became a division of the Public Safety Department. Programs and services were expanded to keep pace with the growing human and animal population. In 1980, the division became fully accredited by the Humane Society of the United States. Animal Care and Control was the first agency in the southeast and the second in the entire nation to achieve this distinction.

BIG HEARTS Rescue was founded in the summer of 2007. Based in Pasco County, Florida, our non-profit organization is made up of volunteers who freely give their love, time, and support in order to rehabilitate, foster, and ultimately give a better life to needy animals. Through action and education, we hope to not only to educate the public on animal-related issues, but to help foster an atmosphere of understanding and mutual respect for the plight of needy animals. Many of our fosters are special needs and we hope you consider adopting one of them. Just one person can help make the difference for many animals that cannot help themselves.

Caloosa Humane Society, Inc.
We are a not-for-profit organization completely dependant on donations from you, fundraisers and what little money made from general operations. We always need financial backing, donations or sponsorships so we can keep our doors open to the public. Being an open admission shelter, we accept all animals from our service area that are brought to us by their owners, what this means is we do not turn any owned animal away. We do not pick and choose which animal we take in, we take all owner surrendered animals from our service are of Glades and Hendry Counties. We cannot accept animals from outside of our service area, as we are not funded to do so, nor can we accept stray animals. Stray animals must go through Animal Control first before we can accept them for adoption. We adopt all over the country! We have adopted pets as far away as Chicago, Maryland, Wisconson, just to name a few out-of-state areas. We offer safe haven for homeless pets, and find permanent and loving homes for as many as we can. We transfer adoptable pets to other adoption facilities that can help in the search for new homes. We offer Spay / Neuter in our shelter! We Promote responsible pet ownership. We will assist any pet owner with training issues to help the pet stay in its home. We offer humane education. We offer Microchip Implantations to the public and every dog and cat adopted is implanted with a microchip.
