Cullman County Animal Control & ShelterWe are currently the only Animal Shelter in Cullman County. We are a County Animal Control and Animal Shelter. We accept animals both stray and owner surrender from all of Cullman County, including the municipalities within the county. We mainly take dogs and cats but have been known to take in a little bit of everything. We rely heavily on donations of food, litter, paper towels, vaccinations, wormer, bleach etc. to keep this facility operating at its best. If you are willing to donate any of the above items, please feel free to come by or call. We have a very aggressive adoption program and try to place as many of our pets as possible. We have a few foster homes that care for some of our animals as well. However, we NEED more responsible volunteers in this area willing to open their homes to a foster pet. If you are interested in pursuing this please contact us and speak with Candie. Also we need volunteers on a daily basis for different things. If you have some free time and would like to make a difference in the life a an animal, please contact us. Our adoption rates are $90 for dogs/puppies and $65 for cats/kittens. This price includes the rabies vaccine and the spay or neuter of your new pet. Also whenever available by generous donation, we deworm the pet and give proper vaccines to get you started. This is not included in the adoption just something we throw in for the health of your new pet whenever we have vaccines on hand. Our business hours are Mon-Fri 9 am till 3:30 pm and most Sat 9 am till 12 noon. Humane Society of CulpeperThe Humane Society of Culpeper (Virginia) is a small nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting abused and abandoned companion animals in our community by conducting adoption and spay/neuter programs. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers plus one full-time employee, we have saved more than 6,000 dogs and cats since our founding in November 2000. Providing Comfort and Care Many of the beautiful dogs and cats available for adoption were found wandering rural areas alone, while others were surrendered by owners unable or unwilling to keep them. The Humane Society of Culpeper provides needed veterinary care (including spay/neuter surgery) and places these abandoned animals with loving foster families. These special caregivers ensure that each animal enjoys a warm bed, a full belly, and plenty of gentle care until we identify a loving and responsible permanent home. Volunteers take available dogs and cats to adoption events at area pet stores each weekend. The Humane Society of Culpeper reaches out to other rescue groups to find safe haven for as many animals as possible. We also offer a low-cost spay/neuter program to county residents. Our Vision We are currently seeking donations of land and funds to build the first no-kill animal rescue center in Culpeper County. At this facility, the Humane Society of Culpeper plans to promote responsible pet ownership through adoption programs, owner education, obedience training, animal rehabilitation, and a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Cumberland Animal ControlWe are proud to be the only municipal shelter equipped with its own classroom, where we conduct shelter tours as well as presenting in house programs. We also visit local schools and civic organizations. Our programs are geared for all age groups from kindergarten to forever. We present between thirty and fifty programs per year. We are proud to offer rescue services for ferrets, rabbits, reptiles, birds and all variety of pets, as well as our beloved cats and dogs.
