We operate two shelters, one on the East Shore and one on the West Shore of the Susquehanna River. Together, the two facilities service Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, and northwestern York Counties of Pennsylvania. Montgomery County SPCA - AbingtonThe Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for unwanted, lost and abused domestic animals. Established in 1909 and chartered in 1916, the Montgomery County SPCA (in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania), has three locations. The Conshohocken facility houses the administrative offices as well as small domestic animals. The Perkiomenville facility includes a pet cemetery and horse farm along with facilities for small animals. Pennsylvania Ferret Club and ShelterThe PFCS shelter is a full-service ferret rescue and shelter organization. We currently have one main shelter facility where our adoptable ferrets are cared for. The Forget-Me-Not Ferret Rescue, located near Harrisburg, is run by Tracy Acker. We also have a network of trained foster facilities who also operate under the guidelines of the PFCS to help with special-needs ferrets or when our main shelters are full. Our Director of Shelter Operations, Kym Costanzo, oversees the entire shelter network and manages the administration of the shelter. All adoption and surrender requests are processed by the Director of Shelter Operations and then passed along to the appropriate shelter director.
