Pine B.A.R.C. is a no-kill adoption center located on an 80 acre farm in Lamar County, Mississippi. We currently house more then 80 dogs in large fenced in areas. We depend on foster homes to house the cats and kittens. In addition to dogs and cats we are also set up to house hamsters and other pet rodents, rabbits and other small furry animals like ferrets, snakes and other reptiles and pet fish. We feel that preventing the births of the animals before they occur is the solution to the problem of overpopulation and strays.

The GCFA is a Non-Profit organization with both a Ferret Shelter & Club.
We are the Oldest and Largest Ferret Association in the Greater Chicago Area!
In trying to come up with a mission statement that would reflect what G.C.F.A. is all about, and how the volunteer's that help us feel about what they do. I chose this short story that was written by someone who wishes to remain anonymous.
An old man was walking along a beach after a particularly high and violent tide had receded, leaving thousands of starfish stranded above the waterline to die. Ahead of him he saw a youth, bending down and then standing to fling something into the waves. Coming closer, he saw the youth was tossing starfish back into the ocean where they had a chance.
"Why bother?" the old man told the youth. "There are thousands here. You can't toss them all back before they die. You can't even toss a small fraction of them back in time. What you're doing doesn't matter."
The youth pondered that a moment, looking at the starfish he held in his hand. "It matters to this one," he replied, and threw it back into the water.
This is all that anyone can ask and/or do. If you can, help us save one more!!!

We are a ferret rescue and shelter located in Central Texas, serving the Austin metro area including Travis, Hays, Williamson and Bastrop Counties. In addition, we are proud to be a part of the Town Lake Animal Shelter’s Rescue Transfer Program.
Often ferret owners find that they can no longer care for their ferret and the ferret is surrendered to the shelter. We also receive calls from individuals who find a stray ferret wandering in their yard. When this happens, every effort is made to find the ferret’s owner. If the owner cannot be located, the ferret is placed for adoption.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless and neglected dogs and puppies and placing them in loving, permanent homes. All dogs or puppies are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, treated for fleas (if needed) and microchipped prior to adoption. We take great care in placing our dogs in loving homes by requiring an application, reference check, and home visit. Adoption fees range from $100-$250 based on breed and age. Although we currently have limited foster homes available, we may be able to help you place your dog or puppy. Please email us for more details.
