Catawba County Animal Care ControlThe current Catawba County Animal Shelter was completed in 1985 and constructed at a cost of nearly $300,000. It is a totally enclosed facility, meaning no animal sheltered is being exposed to the weather. The Animal Shelter was designed with automatic feeding and watering dispenser, separate quarters for male and female dogs, and an area specifically for cats.
