Brown County Humane SocietyThe BCHS was incorporated in 1966. The current shelter was built in 1987. An extensive renovation was completed in 2000. We are the only humane organization servicing the Brown County area. The mission of the Brown County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals in our county. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to ultimately eliminate pet overpopulation in our community.128 S.
