Operation Bring Animals HomeOBAH began September 2005 after Hurricane Kartina devastated the gulf coast. Our founder, Caryn Majeskie, realized that there was a desperate need for people to get into the areas for search and rescue as well as feeding and watering the animals on the streets. Once the news broke, local news stations and newspapers took ahold of the story and the operation took off. Wisconsin Westie RescueMany of our Westies are from animal shelters that come in as strays or as dogs relinquished directly by former owners. Some of our dogs come from owners who can no longer care for the dog. Once the Westie is in our rescue, it is placed with a foster family who cares for the dog until it is adopted. The Westies are spayed or neutered, given all their shots, microchipped and examined by a veterinarian. Midwest Italian Greyhound RescueWe are a rescue organization run by volunteers and representatives of the IGCA (Italian Greyhound Club of America) as well as other groups dedicated to saving lives! We have been oing Italian Greyhound rescue in the Midwest for over 10 years. All our dogs are in foster homes through Southern WI and surrounding areas and placed in WI or neighboring states. IGs in our program come from a variety of sources but most are owner surrenders given up when the family is no longer able to keep their pet.
