Green Acres Boxer Rescue takes in Boxers from all areas of Wisconsin. Approximately half of our incoming dogs are surrendered directly by their owners for reasons including: new baby in the house, moving, no time for the dog, allergies, etc. The other half come to us from shelters. Some shelter dogs are unclaimed strays and some are surrendered to shelters by their owners. We work closely with shelters and other rescue groups across the state. Green Acres Boxer Rescue of WI is also a member of Wisconsin Dog Rescue.
Upon arrival each dog is taken to a veterinarian. They are brought current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Even if a dog is not due for any vaccinations, we still make sure that a thorough physical exam is done. We take the time to evaluate each Boxer's temperament so he/she can be placed in the best home possible.
Many people ask us where we are located. The dogs are cared for in foster homes around the state. Therefore, we do not have one central location. All files and records are kept in Green Bay. We do our best to provide service to the entire state (as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Our volunteers work very hard to help Boxers in need!
If you are interested in adopting, the first step is to submit an application. You must live in WI (or in the U.P. of MI) in order to adopt. If you live in another state and need help finding a rescue in your area, we'd be glad to help you with that.

We are a Greyhound-placement organization that accepts Greyhounds primarily from the Wisconsin Greyhound racetracks and local shelters. Through a network of local veterinarians, our organization provides full examinations, spaying, neutering, dental care and other needed medical procedures prior to adoption. GPA Wisconsin's Milwaukee and Madison adoption operations rely heavily upon Greyhound-savvy families to act as temporary "foster homes" for ex-racers to make the transition to home life while awaiting adoption. Fostering is a very rewarding activity, where the foster family helps a Greyhound explore a home (most have never seen stairs, patio doors and other interesting things), recuperate from spay or neuter surgery, learn good manners, and best of all, learn that the transition to becoming a pet is journey filled with love. It is through this program we are able to allow each adopted Greyhound to join its new family in the best possible condition. GPA Wisconsin's volunteers work closely with each prospective Greyhound owner, matching them with a dog whose personality is most ideally suited to its new home situation to ensure a lasting, rewarding relationship.

We are a dog rescue organization working together in Western Wisconsin to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals by saving one life at a time. All pets are Spayed/Neutered and current on vaccinations prior to placement. We are all volunteers with no paid staff and very little funding. We always strive to do our very best to help homeless animals. We are a FOSTER based rescue group, which means the pets in our care reside in the homes of our volunteers and not a shelter. Our common goal is to build a multi-species Humane Shelter.
We do not have a shelter or centeral location, however, by contacting the foster number or email listed with each of our companions, directions and arrangements to meet can be given individually. Most of our adoptions are in Monroe County and La Crosse County Wisconsin. We do send and take applications by email and snail mail so contact us and we will get one to you.

Our shelter is Low-Kill which means that only dogs that are aggressive or sick will be euthanized. We are non-profit and tax exempt organization and our main goal is to find homes for homeless and unwanted dogs. We do like people to come visit our facility. Volunteers do come and help out with the care of the dogs, this helps the dogs and us! Our dogs need as much love and support that we can give to learn to love and trust people. Some dogs that come into our shelter have been abused or mistreated. It is our job to show them that they can love again. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please contact us at 715-258-5452.
