We are a group of volunteers and a nonprofit organization. We rescue pets from Mason County Animal Control (231-843-8644) that would otherwise be euthanized. The pets are held at Animal Control for 4-7 days, giving the owner the opportunity to reclaim them.

Animal Welfare Society is an adoption network committed to finding homes for companion animals. We are a no-kill organization, and we place animals of all ages into loving homes. Since we do not have a shelter, we rely on a network of volunteer foster homes and owners to hold onto their pets until adopted. Animal Welfare Society strives to educate the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay/neuter through our Humane Education program.

A.C. PAW is an all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are licensed with the Department of Agriculture.
AC PAW started as a vision of two people, Brian Manley and June McGrath to ensure a safe haven for animals from abuse, hunger, disease and death. As we all know to well, the over population problem happening at animal shelters, A.C. PAW was founded to give the animals a second chance at life.
We are officially begining our 8th year of volunteer service.

With the opening of our new shelter, Homeward Bound, a long-time dream has become a reality. However, the maintenance of our shelter and continuance of or spay/neuter programs require your help. The Manistee County Humane Society is a volunteer organization. We are not connected with any governmental agency or any other animal league. The money for maintaining the shelter and providing optimum care for the animals comes from donations. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

The goal of the shelter is a simple one, to find loving homes for pets brought to us. Or find the owners of lost animals. Achieving that goal, with any margin of success, is not so simple. It takes hard work and money to feed and house the animals until we can place them in caring homes. Hopefully for most the shelter means a new lease on life in a new home, with a caring family. The shelter is only half of the solution to an ever growing problem. The other half of the solution is composed of volunteers, sponsors and most importantly, adoptive families. Also to educate the public on the intelligent and humane treatment of animals.

Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter is a County government funded agency serving the mid Michigan area, Ingham County's service area includes Lansing, East Lansing, and it's other adjacent urban communities. The Ingham County Animal Shelter maintains close relationships with many of the local rescue groups and citizen volunteers. The Ingham County Animal Shelter is working very hard to bridge that traditional gap between Animal Controls and Humane Societies by providing an open environment to those honest, hard working, animal caring, members of our community who assist us in finding loving homes for our unwanted pets.
