The American Eskimo Dog Rescue is a local chapter of Heartbandits, a national volunteer organization that is dedicated to finding the “right home for Eskies who are lost, abandoned or abused. We care for dogs of every age group. When rescued, our Eskies are vet checked, given necessary vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Our Eskies reside with their volunteer foster family and are evaluated for temperament, training and behavior issues. If we do not have an Eskie that meets your needs, we may know of Eskies in other rescues/shelters and will gladly share that information. Potential adopters are screened to ensure that their lifestyle and home are right for each individual dog. A home visit and follow-up are required to ensure that the placement is appropriate. An adoption contract and fee will be required.

Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue (MSIR) is a non-profit, all-volunteer corporation.
MSIR seeks out, fosters, and places homeless Shiba Inu dogs into carefully screened, lifelong, and nurturing homes. In addition to rescue, MSIR volunteers provide medical care and/or rehabilitation for foster dogs and then attempt to match them with appropriate, permanent homes.
MSIR also educates the public about the Shiba Inu breed, the need for dog rescue and dog training, and the importance of spaying/neutering pets to prevent overpopulation.
One of MSIR's goals is to acquire funding to support operations.
MSIR is based in Chicago, and currently serves parts of the Midwest. We place most of our dogs in the Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin region, but we have also successfully placed dogs in Massachusetts, Utah, and Florida.

Illinois Birddog Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving, transporting, vetting, fostering, and adopting homeless American Field-bred English Pointers and English Setters - a group of canines commonly known as BIRDDOGS. We are funded solely from adoption fees and donations. Since our slow beginning in October of 2001, we have placed close to 200 dogs and puppies.
Most of our rescue dogs are in foster care in the Chicagoland area with a wonderful group of volunteers who dedicate their free time and energy to help the dogs get ready for their forever homes. While in foster care, the rescues live in a home and are socialized with other dogs, people, children, and cat tested if possible. To assure that they will make good house pets, our rescues are also taught basic manners, are housebroken and cage trained. Unfortunately many of the rescues that come in have been abused or are in poor health. We take care of any medical issues and give these dogs lots of TLC.
