Critter Care FarmCritter Care was founded in 1988 and relocated to north Central Florida in 1998. We are non-funded volunteers, dedicated to the care and protection of ALL animals. We have many years of experience working with the care of animals, in Veterinary Hospitals, and Animal Shelters. We provide a safe shelter, love and care for lost, abandon, abused and stray animals of all kinds. Because of our work and experience with animals, we are called upon by many citizens to take in these animals, care for them, and try to place them into loving, secure, and permanent homes. Some have become permanent residents here at Critter care Farm. We have been Wildlife Rehabilitators since 1989 and hold permits with Fla Fish and Wildlife Conservation Comm. and the Dept. of the Interior US Fish and Wildlife Serive. Critter Care is NOT a business! We operate out of our own pockets at our home, because there is a need to help animals that can not help themselves. Donations from those who care about animals, help us to take in these injured. orphaned, and homeless animals. Col. Potter Cairn TerrierRescue Network - South EastWe are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle. Northwood Animal Hospital Good Sam ProgramWe are a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to helping as many sick and injured animals as we can through our Good Samaritan program. Generally, animals are brought to us by people ("Good Sams") who find them and we fix them up and adopt them out when they are healthy. All the animals we adopt out are up to date on their vaccines, have negative fecal exams, are dewormed and are flea-free. Our adoption fees are between $45 and $150 depending on the age, species and breed. We require that all pets we adopt out be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if they are old enough or that a deposit be left to ensure they will be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age.
