Lincoln County Humane SocietyThe Lincoln County Humane Society is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and abuse to animals, birds and wildlife. We strive to maintain a No-Kill facility; a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals; a temporary home for the homeless; a haven for the mistreated, neglected or abused animals of Lincoln County and surrounding counties. Euthanization will not be our population control, but rather an act of kindness to end an animals suffering or to ensure public safety and welfare. It is our pledge to nourish the relationship between companion animals and humans through education, media exposure and readily available information and assistance. The purpose of the Society is to promote animal welfare including the reduction of the pet overpopulation through the prevention of unwanted births using the tools of: -strong legislation and enforcement on both State and County level -youth and adult education assistance. -availability of low-cost public spay/neuter The Humane Society provides a shelter to which the public may bring in their unwanted animals. A trained and dedicated staff is at work every day of the year to provide a high standard of care. Clark County Humane Society (CCHS)The Clark County Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and adoption of cats and dogs. A wonderful group of over 350 members, our goal is to assist the lost, surrendered, unwanted, and unloved cats and dogs of the area. Taylor County Animal ServicesWe pick up stray or lost cats and dogs and give them a safe comfortable place to stay and care for them until their owners can recover them. Sometimes there is no one who calls to find these pets and we need to find new adoption families for them. We are very limited on the time alloted for us to care for these animals, the county who has contracted us will only provide funds for seven days, after that we keep these pets at our own expense. Humane Society of Portage CountyFounded in 1969, the Humane Society of Portage County owns and operates an animal shelter in Bukolt Park, located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The shelter provides food, housing and care for over 2,500 stray, unwanted, sick, or injured animals each year. HSPC is primarily funded through private donations, fundraising activities and adoptions. Outreach for HSPC is based on our foster and volunteer programs. Many nursing mothers are sent into foster care until their kittens or puppies are ready to be adopted. We also use this program for undersocialized animals and old/sickly dogs and cats that would otherwise not find homes. Our volunteers help with the daily chores and activities that keep our animals happy and healthy. Many volunteers walk the dogs and socialize our cats. They also help with general training. Kritter Rescue Team AssociationOur dogs live with us as family members; we know them well and can tell you what type of household would be best for them. They come to us from shelters and pounds that are full and desperately need an alternative to euthanizing for space. We try to help whenever we can by providing a safe place for these dogs until they are adopted. Some of our dogs come to us directly from owners who have had an unfortunate change in their lives and can no longer keep a beloved pet.
