At the present time, GSR-SP is serving the overflow needs of shelters in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties. Because one of our long-time volunteer leaders moved, now we're in Brooklyn, NY too.

Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association (PACCA) is the City of Philadelphia's contracted animal control shelter. Taking in almost 30,000 animals each year, PACCA sees the greatest number of homeless, abandoned and orphaned animals in our area. When you adopt your new best friend from PACCA, you are truly saving a life that may not have had a chance without your kindness.

NGAP is an independent non-profit corporation registered in the state of Pennsylvania. It has no affiliation with any Greyhound track or other organization. It is funded by adoption fees and donations. Donations are tax deductible. NGAP is a 501 (c)(3) corporation. At our kennel facility we house greyhounds and also board them for vacationing owners. We also have a surgical facility and do over 2,000 greyhound procedures annually, more than any other facility in the United States. Our Adoption Program started in 1989. Its primary purpose is to help find adoptive homes for former racing Greyhounds and to educate the public about them. We built our own compound in Philadelphia to house Greyhounds with full-time, live-in caretakers. Every Greyhound has National Greyhound Association tattoos, and is, of course, purebred. Thousands of Greyhounds are killed every year because they cannot run fast enough to make money. Adoption is their only chance of survival!

We are a small group in Chester County, Pa. who are doing our best to rescue older dogs from a life of breeding and neglect in puppy mills. These poor dogs are so grateful to be out of their cages so that they may receive gentle human kindness, and the necessary medical care they so greatly deserve. We also rescue senior and/or handicapped dogs from death row at area shelters. We have applied for and are awaiting approval of our 501(C)(3) non-profit status.

Spanky's Project is dedicated to finding homes for kennel dogs whether the kennel is large scale or only a few dogs. We work with breeders to help make them aware that there are other alternatives for them to choose instead of euthanizing, advertising "for Free" in the classifieds, selling for research, or to be uses as bait for dog fighting.

JNMRF is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of Norwegian elkhounds and elkhound mixes. Incorporated in 2003, we are a 501c3 organization and work with volunteers around the country to find caring, loving homes for these dogs. We do not have a kennel or shelter to house dogs so we depend on volunteer foster families for holding dogs until they are adopted. The fund provides money to pay for shelter fees, spaying and neutering, heartworm checks, vaccinations, medical treatment, temporary housing and transportation in its effort to rehome these dogs. We maintain a rescue website to provide internet exposure for dogs in need. We also work with other rescue groups throughout the USA and Canada in helping to accomplish these goals. Our long term goal is to provide a real shelter for Norwegian Elkhounds who are waiting to find their true "furever" family.
