Our mission is to rescue the not-so-young homeless dogs that are often overlooked at most animal shelters. We have shown that people will adopt and love older dogs. We look for dogs that are usually 5 years and older although we also take younger dogs , and the occasional puppy or cat. St. Martin Humane SocietyThe St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501 (c3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fund raising to fulfill its mission. We have pets for adoption from different sources (strays, owner released...) and we rely solely on foster homes for the animal in our care. We also work very hard to try to reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through low cost and free spay-neuter programs.
