Our mission is *not* to rescue and place as many homeless pets as possible. Our rescue is based on a much more intricate method. We typically have each animal for a minimum of 1-month before it is adopted. This is only because we put such effort into what condition the pet leaves us in. Not only do we have each pet spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and implanted with micro-chip identification ~ but we also pride ourselves in taking that *extra* step. Prior to placement, each of our pampered pets is tested (and if needed: medicated) to remove any internal parasites they may have had (de-wormed), as well as external (de-fleaed). Most of our pets are tested for (and placed on preventative medication) for Heartworm. Each of our pets receive a fully-detailed bath and grooming experience (including nail trim, ear cleaning, bathing, and if needed: trimming or shaving their coats). If the pet has behavioral issues, these are addressed on an individual basis (including formal basic training if necessary). This way we are placing out more "family adaptable" pets!!

Little Orphan Angels Animal Rescue (LOA) is a non-profit humane animal organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of companion cats and dogs which are needlessly euthanized because they are homeless. LOA's founding members have over 10 years of combined experience in this volunteer based field and have rescued hundreds of animals from local shelters and from individuals who can no longer care for their animals. LOA promotes responsible pet guardianship by requiring all adopted animals to be tested and vaccinated for diseases, examined by qualified veterinarians and spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. LOA screens potential adoption applicants to ensure that the adoption of an animal has the highest possible chance for a successful, lifelong placement. LOA is also dedicated to educating the public about the plight of homeless animals and the need to control over-population through spay and neutering.

Little Orphan Animals, Inc. offers pet "matchmaking" and helps people find their special someone through specialized Internet marketing and aggressive networking. Working with other shelter groups and foster care networks, transitional care for displaced, convalescing and other special-needs pets may be found. Little Orphan Animals, Inc. also works with independent rescue workers, helping them locate equipment, food and medical resources in their own area.
LITTLE ORPHAN ANIMALS, Inc. is primarily a referral organization. We do NOT have shelter facilities at this time. We work with private parties, retailers, shelters, foster homes, pet transport services, law enforcement, and others to facilitate the coordination of services. Examples include arranging home checks for private parties and animal welfare organizations pre- and post-adoption, coordinating pet-transport services for pets being rehomed, researching alternative interventions for animal wellness, e.g., innovative health care, diet and behavior modification.
