MSBR is a West Virginia Corporation with 501(c)(3) tax deductible status that was formed in 2001 by a group of Boxer dog loving people. We spend a great deal of time, money and energy saving individual Boxer dogs from certain death in West Virginia shelters and dog pounds. MSBR volunteers take in abandoned and unwanted Boxers and foster them in their homes while helping the dog become adoptable. All rescue dogs are given a thorough medical exam and are vaccinated, heartworm tested and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. The dogs are crate and housetrained and taught basic obedience commands while in care. All dogs are tested for compatability with other dogs, cats and children. While there is never a guarantee, we try to adopt only those dogs with sound temperaments

The Nicholas County Animal Shelter's mission is to provide humane care and treatment and a safe place for all strays and unwanted pets. We accept all domesticated animals and make arangements for wildlife to be turned over to the WV DNR. We intervene with the Nicholas County Sheriff Department in cases of animal cruelty and seek to return lost animals to their owners. We also strive to promote the adoption of as many animals as possible and increase public awareness as to the importance of spaying/neutering and the need for responisble pet care. SPAY NEUTER STOPS THE KILLING. NO-BIRTH IS THE FIRST STEP TO NO-KILL.

NORTH MOUNTAIN SMALL DOG RESCUE is a small breed rescue geared toward but not limited to Pomeranians. Our objective is to rescue and place small breed dogs in need. Located in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, we are very accessible to the Rte 81 corridor as well as Washington DC and Baltimore.. Working independently, there is no building, fostering in private homes. We rescue from many different shelters--and frequently bring animals into our group who might otherwise lose their lives. So we might have anything--from a puppy to a senior who is considered "unadoptable" by a shelter. We will also often have purebreds or close mixes

Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) of Pendleton Co., WV was formed in April, 2005 by a group of concerned Pendleton County residents. There has never been an animal shelter in Pendleton prior, not even a dog pound! We have been able to save some pets over this time, but would like to increase our capacity and effectiveness because there are many more pets we are unable to help due to a lack of funding and we are the only option for homeless animals in Pendleton. Though we are are relatively new, we do have our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status, so all donations are tax deductible and used to pay veterinary bills and basic costs like phone, supplies, kennels & crates. As of 6/20/07, PAWS has rescued 134 pets through our Pet Rescue program!
