Pendleton Animal Welfare ShelterPendleton Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) of Pendleton Co., WV was formed in April, 2005 by a group of concerned Pendleton County residents. There has never been an animal shelter in Pendleton prior, not even a dog pound! We have been able to save some pets over this time, but would like to increase our capacity and effectiveness because there are many more pets we are unable to help due to a lack of funding and we are the only option for homeless animals in Pendleton. Though we are are relatively new, we do have our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status, so all donations are tax deductible and used to pay veterinary bills and basic costs like phone, supplies, kennels & crates. Humane Society of Pocahontas CountySince its founding in 1998, the Humane Society of Pocahontas County has been instrumental in spaying and neutering hundreds of pets and strays and arranging adoptions of many animals. Our rescue efforts have saved starving horses, lost and abused animals and most recently helped to shut down a cat breeding operation which was out of control. BTHavenBTHaven is associated with the Boston Terrier Rescue Net. We abide by the code of ethics established by the Boston Terrier Club of America, Inc. We will not purchase dogs from puppymills or owners. Our adoption fee is $250 for purebred Bostons Terriers, although this fee may be partially waived for senior or special needs dogs. All animals are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, housetrained, and evaluated before placement.
