Welcome to Grand Saline Adoption and Rescue Center. Opened on March 7, 2005, GSARC has a very limited staff of city employees and volunteers, and an overabundance of animals in need. We are just beginning our journey helping animals in the county, so please bear with us.

We are an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization who provides temporary foster care for stray/abandoned cats and dogs. All animals receive appropriate medical care, including necessary vaccinations and sterilization. Many of the animals that come to us are injured, malnurished, or ill and in need of expensive medical care. All animals are treated regardless of price, and cared for in a loving foster home until healthy enough to be adopted. We feel that animals in foster homes do better when placed in new homes than animals coming right out of a shelter, because of the extra care and attention they get in a foster home. Our dogs get basic obedience training, potty training, and crate training to help with a smooth transition into a new home.
