Tip Of Texas was organized to help the large number of unwanted or abandoned homeless dogs in South Texas, and is primarily a K-9 rescue. All our pets have wither been rescued from a high kill shelter or brought in by concerned citizens.

We are a definite no kill rescue group. Animals stay with us until they are adopted or pass away. We do not euthanize any animal unless it is severely sick and suffering. If an illness should occur, we do whatever we can to treat the animal. We do not euthanize any animal if we think it is unadoptable as I have heard some rescue groups do.

All the animals we have are cared for at private homes until they are adopted. Each foster determines what type of animal they can handle. TCSR supplies food, care supplies and vet services for each foster; authorized expenses incurred by the foster for the support of an animal will be reimbursed when receipts are provided. The foster is responsible for proper care, transport of the animal to/from adoption and the vet as required. Fostering is very rewarding experience, especially when the little life you have saved brings joy to a new owner. Just remember, you can not keep everyone even if you want to badly. We all must keep in mind that animals' space is now available to save another life.

Our mission is to responsibly re-home unwanted animals with a precise pre-adoption program after social or health rehabilitation of the companion animal. We also strive to decrease the number of animals being born with our policy of no adoption until spay/neutered. We rescue all breeds dogs, cats from animal control, owner surrenders and feral cats. At this time we do not have a shelter so all our animals are in foster care.
