Oak Ridge Animal ShelterWe are Oak Ridge Animal Shelter and Animal Control. We service the city of Oak Ridge with contracts with Anderson County,City of Clinton, and Oliver Springs to house their animals. We also receive animals from surrounding counties. When animals are refused from the counties with animal shelters, we gladly take them in. We will not turn animals away. We have three full time Animal Control Officers and a full time Veterinarian on site. Oak Ridge Humane SocietyThe Oak Ridge Humane Society is a community of people who believe that all life should be respected and whose mission it is to promote responsible treatment of animals and to be an advocate on their behalf. East Tennessee Border Collie RescueOver the past few years, the Border Collie has become one of the most overbred and misunderstood breeds in this country. Its prominence in movies, TV shows and the press, and its unfortunate rating as "the most intelligent breed in the world" has made it a target for puppy mills, back-yard breeders, and thoughtless but well-meaning individuals who insist that they need to reproduce the family genius without giving a thought to the future well-being of the puppies. In the U.K., the Border Collie is the second most common breed to be turned into Rescue, even to the point where the British press has printed several articles about the situation recently. NOAH'S ARC, INCNOAH'S ARC is a nonprofit 501c (3), "NO-KILL", animal rescue organization founded in 1991, as an alternative to animal shelters. We have grown from 6 members to over 400 in and out of Tennessee. We are funded solely from donations and fundraisers with 100% of money raised going directly to improving the health and lives of rescued animals. Since 1991, we have placed over 3,200 rescue animals, (many with handicaps or special needs), into quality, loving homes. The purposes of Noah's Arc have expanded to encompass the rescue of abandoned, abused, injured or impaired animals; provide medical attention; find foster or permanent homes for the animals; educate the local public regarding pet overpopulation; and provide low or no cost spaying/neutering of ARC animals and community pets. NOAH'S ARC animals are housed at our Dog Harbor and Cat Haven locations.
