Warren County Humane SocietyThe Warren County Humane Society is run by an elected volunteer board and is not affiliated with any government agency. Our main source of income is from contributions and fund raisers. Anyone with questions on our polices, or how they are administered my call the shelter during normal operating hours. We require 24 to 48 hour waiting period before adoptions are finalized. All animals are spayed or neutered before adoptions are complete. We match pets to people to reduce the chance of bad adoptions. Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc.Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. was started in 1997 with a single volunteer saving a single Lab, and has grown since then to over 50 volunteers and has saved hundreds of Labs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey - placing them in new forever homes with loving families from all walks of life. Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue (Brookline) is a non-profit volunteer organization funded entirely by donations. At Brookline Lab Rescue we maintain a list of available Labs. This list is updated on a regular basis and is made up of dogs being given up by their owners (but still living with the owners) and dogs who are in foster care. We do our best to evaluate each dog and to give potential adopters detailed and accurate information regarding each dog. Dogs being surrendered by their original families stay with them until an adoption can be arranged. If the dog is scheduled to be destroyed at a shelter, we arrange to place the dog in a foster home with one of our volunteers. If a foster home is not available, then we place the dog in a kennel near one of our volunteers until a foster home can be arranged. All shelter dogs are fostered for a minimum period by a volunteer before being placed for adoption. We evaluate both the dog and the prospective adopting home to ensure a good fit for everyone. All dogs are vet checked and their shots updated before they are adopted. A Wet Nose Dog RescueA Wet Nose Dog Rescue (AWNDR) is very small rescue located in south central PA. We are a short distance from Hagerstown MD (approx. 12 miles) and 8 miles east of I-81. We are dedicated to all dogs but primarily german shepherd dogs. We concentrate on moving dogs from high kill shelters to foster homes and then to their forever homes. We have alot of experience with the shepherd breed and want to help these dogs who have been the victim of unwilling or unable owners or those dogs found as strays. All of these dogs will be temperment tested and placed accordingly.
