The Columbus Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to: promote responsible pet ownership; reduce numbers of unwanted animals by encouraging pet owners to spay or neuter; improve conditions at the Columbus County Animal Shelter; and provide more opportunities for adoptions. Each year, the Columbus Humane Society makes great strides. Currently our rescued animals are housed in foster homes awaiting adoption as we do not have our own Shelter as yet. Our goal remains to find a building where we can house all our rescued animals in one location.

Tackling a problem as large as our community’s pet overpopulation crisis and servicing thousands of needy animal caretakers requires, not just a professional approach to addressing medical and surgical needs, but also the understanding that comes with “being there side-by side with overwhelmed people struggling to “do right by their animals without the means to do so. This mix of professionalism and empathy
is what the Kindness Clinic strives to offer.
