We care for abandoned and homeless cats and dogs who are living on the city streets. Our site is about the desperate need for more people to go in to the city to help the strays. For a few hours a week you can help feed and rescue the many thousands of animals there who have noone to help them.

The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. (MAGDRL) was organized in 1979 to serve the seven State Mid-Atlantic regions. MAGDRL helps Danes by providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment necessary to return the Dane to good health. We also provide training and socialization to ensure their adaptability to new homes. We work to place rescued Danes with people who will provide secure, loving and healthy homes. To do this, MAGDRL screens the applicant and the home, checks references, and enters into a legally binding agreement with the adopting family. We require that the rescued Dane be kept inside the house: a member of the family.

The Saint Bernard Rescue Foundation is the ONLY group endorsed by the Saint Bernard Club of America to conduct rescue activities on behalf of our terrific breed. Dogs come into our program for all sorts of reasons: Owners divorce. Or move and can't take their dog with them. Or the owner is ill or dies. Or the kids have allergies. Or the owner just doesn't have time for the dog. Sometimes a dog is picked up as a stray, with no identification and no way to return him to his family. Additionally, we partner with area shelters who turn to us for assistance when a Saint is surrendered to them.
