Amour De Chiens, Inc. is a newly established shelter in 2005. We are experienced rescuers who are willing to help with an occasional adult dog, but we are trying to fill the need of placing puppies who have to be sterilized before adoption. Most of the dogs we have available are medium to large breeds. We believe that a Large dog means a Large Heart. We will adopt only to homes with fenced yards.

Tangi Adopt A Rescue (TAAR) -is a non-profit companion animal rescue and adoption service located in Amite, LA. We foster and place cats and dogs who have been surrendered by their owners, abandoned, or are at risk of being euthanized by the local animal shelter.
We are an all volunteer organization with no paid employees, officers, or directors. 100% of your donation goes toward food, medical and adoption costs of the animals. Your donations allow us to rescue more homeless animals and educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.
Tangi Adopt A Rescue has adopted many dogs & cats, kittens and puppies into new homes over the years. However, we can't do it alone. You can help by being a foster parent for a needy cat or dog. Foster care consists of providing a safe, loving home for a homeless pet until a permanent home can be found.

Who we are...
St. Tammany Animal Resource Team is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping the unwanted pet population of St. Tammany Parish. Our work focuses us on the Northshore in areas such as Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville, Folsom and Slidell. Some of our projects include animal adoption, spay/neuter programs, feral cat management, and pet emergency resources. At this time, we foster all our animal in volunteer homes. While this is a major expense, it also allows us to socialize the animals with other pets and children and assess their special needs.

We are a no-kill shelter in Lafayette (Carencro), LA that houses at the shelter, on average, 65 dogs and 65 cats. We also provide for more animals living in foster homes. All of our animals are current on shots, and all are spayed/neutered. Cats are tested and vaccinated for Feluk and FIV. Dogs are tested for heartworms and if necessary, treated.
We do not discriminate against any animal due to size, age, color, breed, or behavioral problems, unless the animal is too aggressive for our volunteers to handle and poses a threat to other animals and volunteers. Intakes are dependent upon availability of space at the shelter.
Adoption fees for both cats and dogs are $80.00.

ARF is a small group of concerned individuals that provide care and housing for abandoned or unwanted animals in Lafayette Parish and the surrounding area. Space in our shelter facility is limited. We work to rescue abandoned and unwanted animals, obtaining necessary veterinary care and placing them in loving, responsible homes. We DO NOT euthanize adoptable animals. Over the last few years we have placed more than 300 dogs and cats into loving homes.
All animals in our care are current on vaccinations. Dogs are screened for heartworm disease and put on heartworm preventative. Cats are tested (and inoculated against) Feline Leukemia.
Most animals we place are already neutered. If the animal is too young for the procedure we will arrange with the new owners to pay for all or a part of the operation. Also, low-income families (under $30,000) qualify for a discount spay/neuter certificate from Lafayette area vets. ALL ANIMALS WE PLACE MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED.
We are recognized by the IRS as a non-profit organization, so any donation you make to help our cause is tax deductible.

We are an euthanizing shelter due to over population in our parish (county) and are governed by the City-Parish Police Department. Our official name is the Roicy Duhon Animal Control Center, named after a dedicated worker, friend, coach, and community member who passed away. We receive many animals in our shelter each day. From lost and found pets to strays and pregnant moms, we accept any and all animals who need a home. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, we are not able to house all the animals that pass through our doors. Each day, some of the animals are available on a first-come, first serve basis during the hours we are open. Sorry, but we DO NOT offer Pit Bull or Chow dogs for adoption to the general public. While many of the animals turned in to the center do not have history or health records, they deserve a second chance. We cannot guarantee a pet's health, nor provide any medical information such as previous vaccinations or problems, however, we recommend that any animals that you adopt receive a general health check by a veterinarian within a 72 hour period. If the animal has medical problems, we will accept the animal back at the center and refund the adoption fee

Animal Rescue Resource Center is a non-profit way station for rescued cats and dogs awaiting adoption into loving and responsible homes. We rarely accept animals from the public, preferring to keep our limited spaces available to other rescue groups who are saving as many as they are able to from the pound and need a short term holding kennel until they can arrange transport. A pre-adoption phone interview at your first call will determine if we have a suitable animal for your family. If so, we will give you directions to the ARRC.

The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501 (c3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fund raising to fulfill its mission. We have pets for adoption from different sources (strays, owner released...) and we rely solely on foster homes for the animal in our care. We also work very hard to try to reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through low cost and free spay-neuter programs. Because we neither have a facility nor employees, all the money we raised is used for the pets in our care and our spay/neuter program.
