Paws And More Animal Rescue is dedicated to Jessie. Jessie was the type of dog most people dream of having, perfect if you will. When she passed I felt very empty and began visiting local shelters and saw the devastating mess that careless people were leaving behind when they got tired of there companions or found it to difficult to spay and neuter. I adopted a very pitiful Dalmatian and nursed her back to health. I then began trying to find a rescue that would place her only to find out that all the rescues were full with dogs that were or had been throuth the same as this poor dalmatian. Which is what inspired me to begin taking in dogs of my own to adopt out. So now, like the rest, I have filled my house with unwanted companions who are looking for forever homes. We are a completely not for profit rescue that is currently run only by family. The rescue exists only on personal income. All adoptoin fee's are used for the needs of the animals. We strive to place unwanted or neglected animals into loving forever homes. Most of our adoptable pets are dogs rescued from kill shelters but we also provide a safehaven for farm animals until they also can find their forever homes. Occasionally the small and furry will find it's way in.

Who Is ARPO?
The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership was conceived in 1998 by a group of Indianapolis citizens concerned about the continuing high rate of euthanasia in our city. ARPO seeks to unite animal-related businesses and organizations in central Indiana for the purpose of promoting responsible pet ownership and decreasing the number of companion animals surrendered to shelters. ARPO is funded solely by donations and is staffed entirely by volunteers. We do not have a shelter, so all of our adoptable animals are housed in temporary foster homes until loving permanent homes are found. If you would like more information on becoming a foster parent, please contact us.

We are a nonprofit organization dependent upon fund-raisers, and donations for our operation. The Humane Society's mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect to animals by operating an animal shelter for homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals; by operating an adoption center for healthy animals; by investigating cruelty and abuse cases; and by educating the public in responsible pet ownership. If you are needing to surrender an animal, please note that we only accept animals from Clinton County residents. Spay/neuter is required for all pets adopted from our shelter.
