Northwood Animal Hospital Good Sam ProgramWe are a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to helping as many sick and injured animals as we can through our Good Samaritan program. Generally, animals are brought to us by people ("Good Sams") who find them and we fix them up and adopt them out when they are healthy. All the animals we adopt out are up to date on their vaccines, have negative fecal exams, are dewormed and are flea-free. Our adoption fees are between $45 and $150 depending on the age, species and breed. We require that all pets we adopt out be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if they are old enough or that a deposit be left to ensure they will be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age. JR. HUMANE SOCIETYThe Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 18 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Second Chance FarmThe name "Second Chance Farm" about says it all. We care for all kinds of animals who come to us under many different circumstances. We limit our intake of animals to those critters who truly have no one else to look after them. So please do not contact us in hopes that we can take in your own animals or those that have come under your care. We have VERY limited space and unfortunately, there are enough "owner-less" critters out there to keep us quite busy! Most of the animals that come our way are healthy and happy from the start ... but some require medical and/or surgical attention before they are healthy enough to go up for adoption. Our goal is to give these deserving critters a SECOND CHANCE at finding a loving and permanent home. Animals that are not considered "adoptable" (due to medical conditions) stay at Second Chance Farm indefinitely - where they receive necessary medical care for the rest of their life. All of our animals up for adoption are healthy and happy, on flea & heartworm prevention, spayed or neutered and are up to date on vaccinations.
