Hands for Paws is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the suffering of stray dogs (called satos by the locals) roaming Puerto Rico, desperately in need of medical attention, food and water, and a loving touch. We were originally created at Manos por Patas, which means Hands for Paws in Spanish, and operate under both names. Our program involves providing sterilizations to the dogs as well as medical attention and vaccinations. We will broaden the program to provide free or low-cost spay and neuter services for all pets in Puerto Rico. We are also beginning a public awareness program that will involve radio and television spots to increase awareness about the cruelty imposed on these animals and will take programs into the schools to educate children about animal cruelty and ethical treatment of animals.

Come visit our farm in High Springs and see the difference you can make for these abandoned animals. We can't save more unless someone adopts!! ** We rescue farm animals as well as domestic pets. **
All rescued dogs and cats are on natural holisitic food. They are all on heartworm preventative and flea control.
The adoption fee includes a minimum of: spay/neuter, shots, deworming, heartworm or feline leuk/aids tests, grooming, 1st month of heartworm preventative and flea control, dentals and bloodwork if needed.
If you are looking for a full breed only, please contact the full breed rescues by looking on-line for the full breed rescue groups. Just say NO to puppy mills that exploit animals for money.

We are the Jacksonville Sheltie Rescue Inc. On this site I am going to show you lost or found and make people aware of the available rescued shelties in the Jacksonville, FL area. Generally people think Shelties NEVER get in dire straits. Let me tell you folks! We rescued over 29 of those wonderful dogs last year, just in our city. From the Shelters, from the streets, and from people who just didn't want to bothered with a dog anymore. Tis sad the state of affairs the canine world is in!

The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 18 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a permanent home we provide necessary vet care, including but not limited to shots, spaying and neutering. We also offer a low cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) to local rescue groups and people who have multiple animals, or need financial assistance.

Kamp Kritter is a no-kill animal shelter in Jacksonville, Florida. We participate in the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and adoption of abandoned, injured and homeless dogs. Without this kind of care many of these dogs face abuse and abandonment but here at the Kamp we offer a loving, homelike environment for the dogs to live in before adoption. Dogs who have been mistreated sometimes find the first safe environment they have ever known and the dogs that wander into our lives find a caring, healthy place to spend their time until adoption. At the shelter, dogs learn how to interact with humans and other dogs under the watchful eye of Head Kritter Sue Towler and other dedicated volunteers and colleagues.
