American Lab RescueAmerican Lab Rescue is an all-breed rescue group specializing in Labrador and Labrador mixes. We are an all-volunteer dog rescue group devoted to helping homeless dogs from puppy to senior age find loving homes. We are a small organization and we operate this rescue in our free time aside from full-time jobs. Our goal is to find only the best homes for the dogs in our care. Northeastern CT Animal Rescue Inc.NECTAR is a group of volunteers who work to place pets needing homes in our "quiet corner" of Connecticut. We work with any municipal animal shelter (pound) that would like our assistance. We photograph pets and post them on line and also video them and show them on a weekly cable access show. Plainfield Animal ControlThe Plainfield Animal Control Shelter is a municipal dog pound. On an average, we process approximately three hundred animals per year. Our average adoption rate is 85%. Dogs are the primary animal that we house. The animal control unit is responsible for enforcing all Connecticut animal control laws. The Animal Control Officer visits the elementary and middle schools twice yearly speaking on a variety of topics. The unit also participates in the annual pet show co-sponsored by the recreation department and the national adopt-a-thon sponsored by the North Shore Animal League. We offer yearly rabies clinics sponsored by the Connecticut Municipal Animal Control Officer's Association.
