Mountains Humane Societyhe Mountains' Humane Society was formed in 1975 by a group of mountain residents who shared a concern for the welfare of local cats and dogs. Their purpose was to provide humane care for the animals, to seek to return lost pets to their owners, and to seek homes for animals without owners. A phone service was begun. The progress of the organization has been controlled by the availability of funding. Mutts UnlimitedMutts Unlimited is a non-profit rescue group founded by LA Animal Services shelter volunteers. We take those dogs that have no chance of ever being adopted by the public for reasons ranging from dirty coats to broken bones. We provide veterinary care and once they are well we find 'furever' homes for them. Our dogs live in foster homes until they are ready to move into permanent homes.
