The Mendocino Coast Humane Society is a nonprofit no kill shelter. Established in 1986 as an alternative to the County Pound. We took on the task of finding homes for the large number of abandoned and lost animals who, at that time, would have been sold for medical research or euthanized, no matter how healthy or socialized they were. Besides sheltering animals, an important ongoing facet of the humane society is to raise awareness of the plight of unwanted, neglected or abused animals and our responsibilities as their guardians. "Every Life Has Value" Our mission is to contribute toward a better life for Animals and to inspire public awareness of animal's needs. Purpose: To provide a safe haven for homeless animals; To secure permanent, loving and responsible homes for animals; To work toward ending the problem of pet overpopulation; To serve as a source of public education and assistance regarding the responsibilities of animal stewardship.

We are dedicated to the animals and their welfare on the Mendocino Coast. Not only is the Animal Control Officer called upon to handle cases similar to what's seen on Animal Precinct, we take in stray animals and are committed to finding good, loving homes for the animals that come to our shelter. We work closely with all the local veterinarians, Humane Society, local law enforcement agencies as well as other local animal outreach agencies on a regular basis as well. We have dedicated volunteers that come in and walk dogs to get them the exercise that they need. Our hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday, we look forward to meeting you.

Menifee Valley Humane Society is having a membership drive and would be glad to have you working hand-in-hand with us to help animals! As with any good cause, help from the community is what makes a difference in the lives of everyone--humans, animals, and all living things. Saving pets is more rewarding than most other things we can do in life. Menifee Valley Humane Society is an all volunteer animal welfare organization that is dependent on the good will and talents of our friends and volunteers. There is much satisfying and challenging volunteer work to be done and many areas in which to participate, including computer work, maintaining our Internet site, digital photography, phones, fostering homeless dogs or cats, public relations/advertising, fundraising, microchipping, spay/neuter program, helping at special events, and assisting at meetings.

Mercy Crusade’s mission is to end pet overpopulation by raising the public’s awareness of the severe companion animal overpopulation problem, particularly of cats and dogs, in the United States and throughout the world and to promote spay and neuter surgery as a primary means of addressing companion animal overpopulation. Dog and cat sterilizations are widely recognized as the most humane and effective strategy for lessening the overpopulation problem and reducing the number of stray animals on the streets. Mercy Crusade provides greater access to affordable and free spay and neuter services. Mercy Crusade strives for the general well being of all animals.
