Founded in 1987, CARE is a nonprofit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization based in Santa Clara County. We accept owner-relinquished, abandoned, abused and otherwise neglected kittens, cats, puppies and dogs that would otherwise face uncertain futures. These once homeless animals are taken into our volunteer foster homes where they receive quality nutrition, medical attention and lots of love and warmth until placed into quality, pre-screened, permanent homes at our adoption center located at 4190 Piper Drive in San Jose.

Greyhound Connection's mission is simply to make a difference - one greyhound at a time. Founded in 2000, GC was formed by several greyhound rescue volunteers who believed a key ingredient was missing in local greyhound programs, and that was FOSTERING. GC believes that an important step in helping a retired greyhound transition from racer to couch potato is a short period of time living in a foster home, where they are introduced to unfamiliar things such as stairs, tile floors, sliding glass doors, children, cats, and more. Equally as important, fostering allows us to learn more about the dogs' individual personalities so that we can make the best match with a new family. This process sometimes takes a little more time, but we want all of our adoptions to be lifelong.

Train Rite is dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled individuals by adopting shelter and rescue dogs, and training them using positive training techniques to perform everyday tasks for their disabled partner. Continual communication with each team ensures their continued independence.
Once in a great while, Train Rite adopts a dog that just won't be able to perform as an Assistance Dog. Sometimes it's for medical reasons, sometimes it's due to temperament. No matter what the reason, this sweet creature will still need a good home. Rather than relinquishing the dog to the local animal shelter or rescue group, we prefer to find the dog a suitable home through our Change of Career Dog Adoption Program
