Animal Shelter Adoption PartnersASAP reached our initial goal of completely eliminating unnecessary euthanasia at the San Luis Obispo County, California Animal Shelter. From 2001, when thousands of animals lost their lives, to 2002 when San Luis Obispo County had the fourth best save rate in the entire country to 2004 when euthanasia for space was zero! That was quite an accomplishment. However, we are finding it terrifically difficult to maintain a zero euthanasia rate.
