The mission of A New Leash on Life Dog Rescue is to provide safe refuge for stray, abused, neglected and owner-surrendered dogs. In addition, our organization works to rehabilitate dogs (medically and/or behaviorally) to aid in finding them carefully screened permanent, safe and loving homes where they will live as companion animals. We also educate the community and promote involvement with regard to animal welfare issues.

Heaven and Earth Animal Rescue Team is a nonprofit, all volunteer, limited admission rescue organization funded by private donations. We are committed to reducing the number of homeless and unwanted companion animals through education programs, spay and neuter programs, and the responsible re-homing of homeless and unwanted dogs and cats.
We are a limited admissions rescue. We can only take in as many animals as our foster homes can safely and responsibly care for. We do not euthanize animals to make room for more. We simply stop taking in new animals until we have room. Each homeless companion animal will remain in our care until he or she finds a new home.

FCHS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised entirely of volunteers from Franklin County and throughout the state and country. It was formed in 2002 to help solve the problem of unwanted dogs and cats in this region. Its long-term goal is to build an animal shelter where area pets can find safe refuge until they can be adopted to permanent homes. Its immediate goals are to develop a strong foster program to remove adoptable animals from the Franklin County Animal Control facility and to decrease the number of unwanted dogs and cats in Franklin/North Wake counties through spay/neuter public education programs.

Because we are an emergency hospital, we see many cases of badly injured and very sick animals. Sometimes they are strays, sometimes the owner can not, or will not, pay for treatment, and sometimes they are simply abandoned by the people who are supposed to love them...that's how we get them. Needless to say, they are in sad shape when they come in.
