Southern Ohio Toy Breed RescueFormaly known as Barn Yard Rescue, originially opened to rescue unwanted, abused & abandoned small & medium size barn yard pets. We mainly worked with our local pound rescuing pups that would otherwise be put to sleep. It was rewarding to help so many, but the need for rescuing was unlimited & We had to come to terms that sadly we could not make a dent in the problem. The more we helped the less people were concerned about the spay & neuter issues of this county. Although it is hard not to be involved, like so many other rescues we have chose to become breed & size specific to limit our intake & not become overwhelmed. After aquiring a pomeranian & recently a yorkie, There is no question that they are one of my passions and I have decided to become a full pledged rescue for toy breeds. Our rescues are kept in homes with families and treated like our pets. We love all animals big & small and our prayers go out to the many because of time, space, money & mainly the pure neglect of owners to alter there pets will not have the chance at life. Southern Star Min Pin RescueSouthern Star MinPin Rescue, Inc. (SSMPR) is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Miniature Pinschers (minpins) of all ages. THIS IS A NAIONWIDE ORGANIZATION WITH FOSTER HOMES IN WASHINGTON STATE. Upon entering our care, each minpin is evaluated for general health and updated on vaccinations. After the Miniature Pinscher is restored to good physical and emotional health and spayed or neutered the search begins for the best and most appropriate home. Careful consideration is taken to ensure that the new home meets the specific needs of the individual minpin by providing a loving and safe haven for this new family member. Prospective owners and family members are carefully screened and the home premises inspected before the minpin is introduced into the new environment. At a future date, a follow-up visit is made by SSMPR, to ensure that all is going well. SSMPR, remains available as a supportive resource to the family for the life of the minpin. All new owners of a minpin from SSMPR, are required to sign a contract agreeing to maintain the best possible health of the minpin and further stating that,in the event circumstances change and the minpin can no longer remain in their home, it must be returned to SSMPR and cannot be sold, given away or taken to a shelter for replacement.
